Family Day Trips from Benidorm
Benidorm! Home of the affordable family holiday from the UK, and the infamous TV show of the same name. We took a trip here in April this year and whilst Benidorm is great for an all-inclusive, we aren’t really sit by a pool all day kinda people. So we booked some excursions! Here are the top 5 places to visit from Benidorm, perfect for a day trip!
The links provided below are affiliate links meaning I will earn a small commission if you do want to book your excursion through them, but these are trips we have tried and tested ourselves first and we will always be transparent on this blog!
Benidorm Island

Not only is it a beautiful scenic island, you get to enjoy a short boat trip over there and usually the excursions come with lunch too!
Benidorm Old Town
This is a short bus trip into the centre of town where you can spend some time wandering the old town, shopping, or even head to the beach. This doesn’t need to cost anything other than some pennies for lunch! We had a delicious ice cream from Cafetería Heladería El Castell, and even had a caricature painting done by the market sellers nearby too!
Guadalest
Guadalest is a tiny village but famous amongst tourists! The scenery is stunning, and it’s got so much history to it. There are plenty of excursions you can book to have a guided tour of Guadalest (and also Altea), as it’s not somewhere you could spend a full day - the entire town is essentially just three interconnected roads! But it’s definitely worth a visit and was one of our favourite parts of our trip.
Fuentes del Algar (Fonts de l’Algar)
If you don’t fancy a trip to Altea, then the Algar Waterfalls are the perfect add-on for a double excursion to Guadalest. The two of these are close by and can easily be done in a day, but also if you’re up for walking, swimming, or hiking, you could easily spend a day here. There’s an amazing restaurant serving delicious food and pizza (Restaurant Les Fonts) at the entrance to the waterfalls that we loved!
Valencia
Valencia looks far away on the map, but in reality it’s only a 1.5 hour drive from Benidorm, making it the perfect place for an excursion to the beautiful city. Tours can pick you up from Benidorm, or Altea, and it’s a round trip of course! The best part about this excursion is you’re given plenty of time to travel around at your own pace, but there are optional add-ons too, for example, football fans can head to the stadium if they want to!
