FREE FLIGHTS - Redeeming Avios Points
It’s happened! Twice actually.
Back in February I reached my qualifying spend on my British Airways American Express card (<— referral link here!) for a free companion voucher. We had multi-city flights to book for 5 of us from London to Colombia, Colombia to the Netherlands and then back home. I managed to use the companion voucher AND my existing Avios points to get FREE flights for 2 of us on the Colombia to the Netherlands leg of the journey. All we had to pay was £200 total in taxes, on what would otherwise have cost around £2,000 in flights with Iberia.

AND THAT’S NOT ALL!!
Just yesterday, I booked free flights home from the Netherlands, costing only £2.50 for 5 of us… yep, 50p each! The crazy thing is that for these flights, the points came purely from everyday grocery spends and referring my husband to also get a British Airways Amex Card! Just by signing up through my referral link I gained an extra 8,000 Avios and my husband earned 10,000 once he met qualifying spend (which, of course, was on a flight purchase!)
